Welcome to Santa Rosa
Hi, it’s my pleasure to welcome you to the Santa Rosa area, the county seat of beautiful Sonoma County. Our area is rich in culture… both the arts kind and the agriculture kind! Our wine country is world reknown for its beauty, accessibility to San Francisco (we’re about 45 minutes from the Golden Gate bridge) and unbeatable wines.
Sonoma County has long been a destination spot for people looking for second homes, affordable property within commuting distance to the city and for all those who just enjoy a bit of country life. It’s a great place to come for a vacation and lots of people do so and just never leave!
Our largest industry is the wine industry, but we are a rich and encouraging community for small business as well. Tourism and retail dominate, but we also have several large companies, such as Medtronics, based here. Interestingly enough, we also have a large wedding industry here. Seems that lots of people like to get married in one of the most beautiful spots on earth, as well as live here. It’s a diverse economy and a great place to live.
I especially love living in Santa Rosa… it’s the perfect sized town, as far as I’m concerned. We have about 150,000 of the county’s 481,000 residents living here. It’s the hub for shopping, local government and healthcare services. We have just about everything you need here (I rarely go into the city for anything other than the theatre or museum trips). The wine industry has proved to be a magnet for all kinds of culture. In the first place, we are a haven for gastronomes. Foodies tend to love wine and thus, they will love Sonoma County. We have a plethora of outstanding restaurants, some of which I’ll tell you about in future articles. You can enjoy almost any time of cuisine you can imagine here and we have more than our fair share of award winning chefs and restaurants.
Our arts scene is also especially vibrant. We have a lot of professional artists who reside here for the natural beauty and peaceful inspiration. That lends itself to a great collection of studios, galleries and wonderful artisan shops.
I do hope you’ll come and visit us sometime soon and if your interests stretch to investing in a piece of Sonoma County heaven… well just give me a call and I’ll make it happen for you.

I agree 100% with Lisa. I, too absolutely love living in Sonoma County. For me, in addition to the culturally rewarding wine country style of living, all of the terrific public golf courses, Armstrong Woods Grove with the incredible towering Redwoods, the majestic coastline and the drive down the PCH and the many hiking and biking areas all help make Sonoma County my favorite spot on Earth! I am excited to now be lucky enough to raise my new born son here too.
